GTA 6 countdown

What is confirmed about the release time

Rockstar has confirmed the dates: preloading from November 12, 2026 and launch on November 19, 2026, on PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X|S. It has not yet announced clock times.

The main clock counts down to midnight on November 19 in your local time. That is based on PlayStation Store listings, which show a rolling release that starts in New Zealand and works west across the time zones, the usual pattern for a midnight local launch. Store data like this is real but it is not an announcement, and store times sometimes change before a big release. Rockstar normally posts the official schedule in launch week. When it does, this page will follow it.

Why your friends abroad may play first

With a midnight local launch, players in New Zealand and Australia start many hours before players in Europe, and Europe starts hours before the Americas. Nobody gets the game early; midnight simply arrives in their time zone first. The same means spoilers can appear online before your own launch. If that matters to you, mute the leads' names and words like “ending” for the week.

The three dates that matter

• November 12: preloading opens for digital copies and for boxed copies once the code is redeemed. The game stays locked, but you can have it installed and ready.
• November 19: launch. No edition unlocks early.
• November 20: the last day a purchase includes the free Vintage Vice City Pack. Ordering before the clock above runs out is the safe side of that deadline.

Get ready before the clock runs out

The download is the part most likely to go wrong. Use our console checker to see whether the game fits and how long it will take at your speed. Then read the launch checklist for the scams that will appear in launch week, and the editions guide if you have not decided between Standard and Ultimate.
